The plans for land development along the Kaluga highway pay special attention to improving transport arteries and traffic in the area. The Project contemplates extension of the Kaluga highway and all local arterials, as well as construction of a later highway connecting Solntsevo (to the west) with Butovo and Vidnoje (to the east), acting as a convenient bypass of the Moscow Ring Road.
Public transport passengers will enjoy express tramway lines, which will connect the higher-density portions of the new district with terminal subway stations along three lines: the «Yugo-Zapadnaya», «Teply Stan», and «Buninskaya Alleya» stations. In the future, this light rail will be extended to reach Vnukovo International Airport.
The express tramway stations will feature Park and Ride car parking lots (known in Russia as «Intercepting Parking Lots») enabling drivers to avoid entering the city in cars during weekday morning and evening traffic jams.
The amount to be invested in development of the road network in the Moscow Region’s Leninsky District will range from 50 to 100 mln. USD.
Upon completion of the Project, roadbed space will double.
